HERE AM I, LORD, SEND ME!
In Isaiah 6, the prophet seemed to hear the Godhead saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?"
He jumped into the conversation and volunteered, "Here am I, Lord, send me!" We, too, volunteered to go many years ago, and it has been our joy to help to help train students in many countries who have also received the vision of our Great God and the Ripe Harvest Field.
NEPAL — Home of Mt Everest; claimed to be birthplace of Buddha
April found us teaching in the Bible college in Kathmandu, Nepal. What a privilege! So much religion in this very poor country, and so little real life! But the Christians have a vision to reach their people with the Gospel. There we met a number of ministers who were our students in Philippines and India. And we both taught the graduating class: Signs and Wonders in Ministry and Principles of Teaching. They were so eager to learn and to put into practice! The city is one of the most polluted in the world, there is very little water for living or for generating electricity so we had current off and on, hoping the printed schedule would be followed — sometimes it was!
Active church worker.
20 years ago, there was one main church in Kathmandu. Imagine — it divided into 3 so they could reach other parts of the city. Now, each has mothered 40-80 churches and preaching points!
This pastor and wife were our students in India.
The Church in the background built a bridge over the ravine so people could get to it easily.
Men on one side—ladies on the other—crowd the church every service for fervent prayer, worship and preaching, and then go out to reach others!
ROMANIAN Students Say: "Here am I; send me."
Since early May, we have been teaching in Romania in two schools; one by the Black Sea near the Turkish border in the east, and the other near the Hungarian border in the west. Each school was established particularly to train missionaries and church planters.
CONSTANTA — School of Transcultural Studies (Missions Training School)
Students in front of world map!
Evelyn on women's side with head covering!
Liviu — intern to India for 2 mos.
People in church lined clear down aisle to back for prayer.
ORADEA — Eastern European Bible College
Sergiu and Magda Marcus died in an accident 3 days after graduation—a great shock! But students are inspired by these "corns of wheat" and are determined to be used to bring in the harvest.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- July — Tonga in South Pacific - Bible School; meetings with pastors/wives; discipleship training.
