EVERETT and EVELYN McKINNEY
And Their Students Are...
Sculptors and wood carvers have to "chip away" for a long time to reach their goal of creating a beautiful piece of art. In Thailand, we have seen several carvers work together on a very large piece of wood to get the job done more quickly. This is also the way the Great Commission will be accomplished—as many Christians from around the world work together to complete the unfinished task of making disciples of every nation (ethnic group).
3600 Unreached Biblical Nations in INDIA
Over 250 students are preparing to help finish the unfinished task at Southern Asia Bible College in Bangalore, India. We taught there in November. Below you see the chapel filled, where many responded to the challenge to reach people of other ethnic groups who have yet to hear the Good News. You can also see us with our students.
Here you see a graduate of SABC in India, who lives in a sensitive country, where he trains nationals to do missions in their own country and others.
SAMOANS Chipping Away at the Unfinished Task
Tavita was our student at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary 28 years ago. After many years of ministry, he returned to APTS and was the first to complete the Doctor of Ministry degree. He is now the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God of Samoa and pastors a missions-minded church, which now supports 3 missionary families.
We taught at Harvest Bible College in Samoa in December. Everett was privileged to have 3 General Council Executives in his class.
One was Faafetai who is planting a multi-ethnic church in the heart of Apia City. A veterinarian, he was called to ministry, attended Harvest Bible College, and is now working on an MA from APTS. Construction has started for their building.
Many of the Harvest Bible College students responded to God's call for workers in other island countries.
In Tavita's church we met little Everett and little Evelyn, named for us after we were here for meetings in 2001.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
THANKS for the MANY lovely cards, letters, and love-gifts at Christmas time. We were blessed to have a family Christmas at our son Steve's home in Indonesia. Doug and his girls came to be with us. We LOVE and APPRECIATE you ALL and pray GOD'S BEST for you all through this New Year!
