HIGHLIGHTS OF 2006
These are some of the most impacting days of our ministry. Because of the faithfulness of our prayer and financial partners, we have been able to be instruments for the Holy Spirit to touch literally thousands of lives in these years. What a joy it is to be part of the harvesting team in these last days!
MALAYSIA - We both taught in the Bible College of Malaysia. Everett had 42 students in Signs and Wonders in Ministry. Evelyn taught Educational Psychology from a Christian perspective. She also taught Principles of Teaching in the ministry training program of a large local church. The exciting thing about teaching in Malaysia is that the students are so ready to take the information and put it into practice. We had opportunity to minister in several local churches, including an African congregation that has many refugees placed in Malaysia by the UN. Many are in desperate circumstances and have found the Lord in Malaysia.
NEPAL - What a needy country, in almost every way! Much unrest and violence, due to a "dictator" king and clashes between Maoists and military. But the church is among the fastest-growing in Eurasia. It was a delight to hold a conference for pastors, many of whom have had little training. We also spoke for the General Council. Pastors returned to their churches with renewed vision and courage.
ROMANIA - It was a pleasure to teach in two Bible schools that were established particularly for the training of church planters and missionaries. One school is located very near the border of Turkey and is in the midst of many Romanian Muslim gypsies. What a challenge! What a delight to see the results in many changed lives! We also had a leadership conference in a newly formed district, where many young leaders are finding their way in the challenges of ministry and are eager for all the help they can get.
THAILAND - A fine group of pastors and missionaries working in various southeast Asian countries came together to study better ways of reaching the people through the course Perspectives in World Missions in the Master's level extension of Asia Pacific Theological Seminary.
MOLDOVA - Evelyn taught Bible College Teaching and Everett taught Major Prophets to pastors who are completing a Master's Degree through the extension program of Evangel Theological Seminary, headquartered in Kiev, Ukraine. Every pastor is involved in planting churches in 2-3 villages near their churches in spite of heavy persecution by Orthodox priests and people.
